A bursa is a fibrous sac containing a fluid called synovial fluid found in joints. A bursa can become inflamed in the knee, the hip, the ankle and also in the gluteal region. Bursitis is extremely painful and debilitating. At Gold Standard when a patient presents with bursitis we treat the inflamed bursa with a combination of Focussed Electromagnetic Therapy and Fascial Manipulation Therapy (Stecco method). This treatment typically needs to be repeated 3-4 times for full resolution.
